Agents of the Civil Guard have arrested two neighbors of Xàbia (Alicante), a father and his 19-year-old son, as alleged perpetrators of a crime against public health and fraud of electricity, after intervening a plantation with 442 marijuana plants inside a house.
The operation began on August 17, when the Civil Guard of Xàbia became aware of the possible existence of a marijuana plantation, located inside a local home, according to the armed institute in a statement.
The officers of the Criminal Investigation Team took charge of the investigation and managed to identify the inhabitants of the house, father and son, both British and 44 and 19 years old.
In the search of the house, carried out last Tuesday, the agents found an important indoor marijuana cultivation, with high production capacity, using advanced ventilation systems, air extraction and large filters. A total of 442 medium-sized marijuana plants were involved.
The two detainees have already been made available to the Court of First Instance and Instruction number 1 in Dénia, and have been released on charges pending trial, with their passports removed to prevent them from leaving the country, pending the hearing.
