The Councillor for Universal Health and Public Health, Ana Barceló, has requested the maximum collaboration of citizens to stop the advance of the coronavirus pandemic in the Comunitat Valenciana, after registering 1,318 new cases confirmed since the last update. The total number of positives amounts to 51,013 people and 31 new outbreaks of Covid-19according to the Ministry of Health.
On the other hand, there have been 5 deaths from coronavirus Since the last update, the total number of deaths is 1,731 people: 253 in the province of Castellón, 601 in the province of Alicante and 877 in the province of Valencia.
“We need that preventive measures be intensified to stop the increase of new cases every day and thus cut the chains of transmission of the virus. In this sense, Barceló has warned that “with the arrival of the cold weather the situation is likely to worsen”, and has insisted that “now, more than ever, we cannot relax and we must all collaborate in this fight against the pandemic”.
This way, there are currently 6,723 active caseswhich is 11.06% of the total number of positives.
Valencian hospitals have, at present, 717 people admitted60 in the province of Castellón, with 11 patients in ICU; 247 in the province of Alicante, 50 of them in ICU; and 410 in the province of Valencia, 52 of them in ICU.
By province, the distribution is the following: 125 in Castellón (5,459 in total); 377 in Alicante (17,251 in total), and 816 in the province of Valencia (28,296 in total). In addition, the total number of unallocated patients remains at 7.
Since the last update, the following have been recorded 595 patient discharges with coronavirus, so the total number of people cured since the beginning of the pandemic is 52,349: 5,981 in Castellón, 17,493 in Alicante and 28,830 in Valencia. In addition, the total number of unassigned discharges is 45.
The total number of tests carried out for the detection of coronavirus amounts to 1,265,149, of which 1,110,410 have been through PCR and 154,739 through rapid test.
Update of the situation in residences
To date, there are some positive cases in 21 nursing homes (1 in the province of Castellón, 7 in the province of Alicante and 13 in the province of Valencia), 7 centres for people with functional diversity (2 in the province of Castellón and 5 in the province of Valencia) and 2 centres for minors (both in the province of Alicante).
