Thousands of people queued in heatwave temperatures for the chance to be part of the Game of Thrones legend as casting for series 6 got underway in Girona ( Cataluña) this week.
Casting will soon be taking place in Peñiscola in the Castellón Province of the Comunidad Valenciana, although Producer Modexpor has yet to confirm the dates for casting. If you live near Peñiscola and would like to be included, sign up for the Twitter account of Modexpor International to receive notification of dates.
The prerequisites are likely to be similar to those in Girona, where the producers were looking for 2,400 film extras aged between 18 and 65, males of slim build and in good physical condition, although not bodybuilders and women should have long hair ( modern cuts excluded), with tattoos a strict no-no. Hair must be natural, with no added colouring and hopefuls were asked to turn up wearing shorts and t-shirts so that legs and arms could clearly be seen.
All racial origins considered.
Men must be willing to either grow a beard or shave one off if the producers deem it necessary!
Residents of the municipality and surrounding areas are being given priority and must be available between the 3rd and 18th September for “very long” days of filming, which include extensive sessions of make-up, wardrobe and hairdressing before filming can even begin.
Extras are paid 50 euros a day, and although the local media are citing this alone as a very good reason to give it a go due to the high unemployment situation in Spain, many of those waiting in line are simply fans desperate to be part of a cult series which is a worldwide obsession for its millions of dedicated viewers.
So if you want to be in with a chance, sign up for that Twitter account!
