Casa La Pedrera is an outdoor activity centre offering a wide range of activities, both on land, as well as on and in the water, in a lakeside setting just a short drive from the Costa Blanca and Costa Cálida.

Run by Jenni Ray, the house was featured on the Grand Designs Abroad TV programme and is an expat dream, set in a gorgeous lakeside setting, surrounded by a natural parkland with views across the blue waters of the lake, yet close to the facilities of the coast and enjoying the warm Mediterranean climate of Southern Spain.

The house has a tea room which offers refreshments as well as selling crafts and gifts, a large pool, and lots of activities, including horseriding hacks and lessons, quad bike rides, facilities for fishing, mountain biking, walking, canoeing , shooting and archery, as well as arranging more aquatic activities in the form of diving , sailing and water ski-ing.

It also runs a wide range of sociable events to fit the expat family calendar, celebrating Easter, Christmas, Bonfire night and hot summer nights with a wide range of musical events, and fun filled entertainments, many in collaboration with local charities.
Tea rooms and craft shop.

Casa la Pedrera is a lovely place to come for a drive-out and a cup of tea or coffee, with home baked cakes, juice or snacks.
The tearooms are open throughout the year, and in the summer, also offer BBQ and live entertainments in the evenings.
Tea room opening hours: Summer: July and August. Monday to Sunday 10.30am to 9.30pm

Winter hours: September to December and February to June ( January closed) Monday to Friday 11am to 3pm, Saturday 11am to 5pm, Sunday 2pm to 5pm. Please note activities are available at any time on any day of the week, even when the tea rooms are closed. Casa La Pedrera is open all year for activities and trails, seven days a week, and at any time ( closed Christmas and New Year’s day). Please book in advance to ensure availability.

Quad bike and leisure trails.
Quad and leisure bike trails are tailored to suit teens, adults or kids and are a fun way to enjoy the views around the lake.Package prices vary depending on group size, and can be arranged for 1 or 2 hours, starting at 30€ per hour for 6 people, 34€ for 3-5 people and 40€ for 1-2 people. Doubling up on a quad, ie 2 people, the driver pays full price and the passenger, half price.

Shooting and Archery
These are very popular family activities. Air rifle packages can be taken for one, or half an hour, with tuition included. Shooting for half an hour is 12 € per person, or 20 € for a full hour.
Archery is suitable for children aged 10 upwards, and packages are available for a half or full hour. A minimum of 3 people are required for booking, with a price of 15€ per hour, or 13€ per half hour.

Horse and pony treks, Horse riding lessons
Casa la Pedrera has a full range of horse and pony-related activities on offer, catering for children aged 3 upwards.
Pony or Donkey rides are on offer for the youngsters, following a gentle half hour trail on either a Shetland pony or a donkey. Price 15 euros per child.

Horse treks/hacks around the lake.
½ hour trek 20€, 1 hour 25€, 2 hours 45€. Treks can be on or off lead according to experience.
Saturday pony club. For children from age 4 upwards, from 2pm to 4pm , 10€ per child.
Holiday club pony and farm days.
Run by experienced and qualified instructors, Casa Pedrera holds daily/weekly pony farm days. Children learn how to groom and care for the horses and other farm animals, and this is combined with hay trails, nature trails and use of the pool, ensuring children have a great time.

Horseriding lesson
Horseriding tuition with an experienced instructor. From nervous beginners to advanced, we can improve your posture, skills and increase confidence.

Walking and hiking nature trails.
Discover the flora and fauna of this protected natural area, with walks to view the various aspects of the La Pedrera lake and surrounding Mediterranean countryside.
Guided walks on Mondays: all start and finish at Casa la Pedrera.
Winter 2pm, Spring 10.30am, cost 3€.
Pick up a map and discover the countryside surrounding the house.
Full guided/unguided walking routes are on offer, with packages prepared to order.

Water Sports and activities.
Fishing.
Price includes fishing rod, tackle and bait.
The embalse is a popular fishing spot, and fishermen can expect to catch Black Bass, Zander or carp. 20€ per rod.
Canoeing/Kayaking.
The lake is ideal for those who enjoy canoeing or kayaking. Single, two man or family size four man canoes and kayaks are available for hire. Half day hire for two people 25€ or 35€ for a family canoe.
Scuba diving.
In association with Costa Blanca Diving we offer Try and Dive tuition in our deep pool, learn basic skills and how to manage dive equipment.
Try dive (pool) 56€, or Try dive with an Open Shore Dive, 99€. Full PADI and Advanced water Courses can be also be arranged.
Sailing, Speedboat and Waterski-ing packages can also be arranged in conjunction with local qualified and experienced professionals.

Directions:
Casa La Pedrera is a waterfront property built on a reservoir called the Embalse de la Pedrera situated on the Costa Blanca in the Alicante region of Spain. It is very easy to get to.
Easy access
Although in a conservation area, we are not far from civilisation; in fact Casa la Pedrera is just minutes away from the AP7 (junction 751 Los Montesinos). We are close to the towns of San Miguel de Salinas and Torremendo and the historical town of Orihuela. Just 15 minutes away are the coastal towns of Guardamar and Torrevieja with their excellent beaches. We are also within easy travelling distance of some of the Costa Blanca’s popular golf courses such as Algorfa, Villamartin.

Once on the CV950, you will see three wind turbines on the hill ahead of you. Travel 700 metres and turn left (where indicated by the green marker) onto a small, bumpy road, between the first two turbines. Following this road a large red house (Casa La Pedrera) and the lake will come into view on your right. Turn into the main gate.
