Golf in Pilar de la HoradadaWithin the municipality of Pilar de la Horadada there is one golf course, originally intended to form the focal point of a residential development, however the golf course operates in its own right as an independent course.

The name of the development, Lo Romero, comes from the rosemary bushes which grow around the course, practical, strong bushes which give green ground cover all year and require little maintenance, although do have the bonus of an attractive smell which is noticeable during flowering season or after rain.

Golf in Pilar de la HoradadaThe par 72 course is 6237 metres long from the white tees, and ends with possibly one of the most challenging holes on the Costa Blanca. The 18th hole is a par 4 of 356m (from the yellow tees) played from an elevated tee which looks down onto every average golfer’s nightmare: an island green. The lake surrounding the green calls for the golfer to play a well struck, accurate shot to walk away with a par which will be etched into his or her memory for a long time!

Other clubs nearby include the Real Campoamor Golf Club, the spectacular course of Las Ramblas Golf Club, La Finca Golf Club and the championship course at Villamartín. Another option is Ciudad Quesada, where the La Marquesa Golf Club is located.

Golf in Pilar de la HoradadaAlthough properties on the development are being promoted heavily in the area the residential part of it is not currently occupied: the roads to the houses are gated off, and the impressive golf course stands alone.

The course is easily reached from Pilar de la Horadada, and is on the CV-925 heading towards Pinar de Campoverde, about 2 kilometres from the town of Pilar de la Horadada.
